I teach in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the College of Charleston. I teach language and content courses that foreground the socio-cultural elements of language interaction.

As a teacher, my role is to guide students through the learning process by building on the unique knowledge and experiences that each student brings to the classroom. In my linguistics classes, I lecture, facilitate discussions, and create opportunities for practical engagement with real-world linguistic issues. In my Spanish courses, I cultivate a secure and positive environment where students feel empowered to take risks and fully commit to a second language.
